In Queensland, Australia the main harvest season is March to June; small crops also come in October to December. At low altitudes in Ceylon the fruit ripens from May to July; at higher elevations, in July and August or August and September. In India, there are 2 distinct fruiting seasons, one in the monsoon period (July-October) and another from April through June. In Puerto Rico, trees in full sun fruit in July and August; shaded trees, in November and December. In Philippines, harvesting of mangosteen fruit is normally done from the month of August to October. Meanwhile, in Malaysia the main fruiting season occurs from mid-June to mid-August. The timing of minor season is less clearly defined, normally occurring anytime from December until February. However, the fruiting season can start 1-1.5 months earlier or later, depending on location. In Vietnam the "Red Dragon" mangosteen will be available from April - August and offseason fruits from October - December.
