  The Nepal Banana Producers Federation has announced that domestic banana production is sufficient to meet the demand for upcoming festivals.     Entrepreneur Nelson Yang is reaching back into s history to turn the humble banana plant into an unlikely sustainable textile.  
               
  BRAZIL: Banana exports drop 35% in August     AUSTRALIA: Banana import measures from Philippines reviewed  
               
  Brazil exported around 6 thousand tons of bananas in August, a 35% decline compared to July.     Australia has started an assessment of alternative measures for the importation of fresh Cavendish bananas from the Philippines  
               
  MYANMAR: Fruit firms seek new mango pulp export markets     AUSTRALIA: Mango season arrrives, Darwin forecast to produce 2.2 million trays  
               
  Marketable varieties such as Seintalone, Machitsu and Padamyar Ngamauk are exported every year to foreign markets including Russia and Singapore.     The mango season in the Northern Territory is ramping up, with farms near Darwin busy picking fruit for markets around Australia.  
               
  BANGLADESH: Mango exports rebound as quality, production improve     KENYA: Launch of fruit fly traps to increase mango production  
               
  With the current mango export season drawing to a close in September, shipments have reached 2,194 tonnes, up 66 percent on last year.     Mango farmers across Makueni County will reap big from a timely intervention as over 15,000 traps are set to be distributed to combat fruit flies.

  INDIA: Pineapple farmers reap sweet success with Giant Kew variety     Gamma irradiation increases the MD2 pineapple's shelf life by over 15 days  
               
  Samir Audi, a farmer from Quepem, recently introduced the Giant Kew variety of pineapple, sourced from Karnataka, in his fields.     Using gamma irradiation can extend the post-harvest life of pineapples by over 15 days, according to research by the National Pineapple Project.

  The prices of papaya have been badly hit in the domestic markets, due to less trade with north Indian states.     Standardized parameters for product inspection of papaya in international trade has been developed in Brazil.

  As a fresh yogurt brand that uses avocados as one of its core ingredients, More Yogurt has long sourced its avocados from Peru.     Azerbaijan imported 536 tons of fresh or dried avocados worth $1.7 million during the six months of 2025.

  Australia has seen growth in demand for its avocados in domestic and export markets over the past year, news that will be welcomed as growers prepare to turn out more of the fruit in the near future.     Once hailed as one of Türkiye’s fastest-growing crops, avocado production is now facing serious challenges as climate conditions and water shortages threaten future harvests.

  Malaysia’s fruit sector is undergoing significant shifts, with some varieties thriving on strong export demand while others face declines due to land pressures, pests and climate change.     A consignment of 500kg of guava from Baruipur have been sent to Singapore for export, according to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Development Authority (APEDA).
