The global production of mango in 2005 was estimated at 28.5 millions metric tons (Table 1). India was the major producer accounting for 38 percents of global production in 2005, followed by China (13%), Thailand (6.3%), Mexico (5.9%), and Pakistan (5.9%).

World Trade in Fresh Mangoes
Fresh mangoes are usually sold in markets close to their countries of production. Thus, suppliers to North America are centered near Mexico, Haiti and Brazil, while India and Pakistan supply to markets in the Near East. Southeast Asian countries are supplied mainly by Thailand and the Philippines while the European Union sources its mangoes from South America and Asia.
Asia is the largest producer of mangoes (75%), but as local and regional consumption is high, Asian mangoes are not traded much internationally. India is the world's largest exporter of mangos, followed by Mexico, and Brazil. As followed in table 2.

The major mango importing countries are United State of America, Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Unite Kingdom and Germany as shown in table 3.
