SFIDA or Supportive Fund of Investment Development in Agriculture is a non-governmental organization that provides a platform to encourage investments in the agricultural sector in Iran. The focus of this initiative is to increase agricultural exports by enhancing production and providing financial support to producers. The purpose is also to facilitate and support the mobilization of capital of private sector to invest in Agriculture Development Funds.
In a webinar organized by SFIDA on ‘Development of Agricultural Enterprise and Marketing’ on 17 November 2024, Mr. Yacob Ahmad, TFNet advisor delivered a presentation on ‘Value chains and market enhancements – case of tropical fruits in Asia and the Pacific’. The webinar was moderated by Mr. Hossein Shahbaz, Director of International Cooperation of SFIDA and participants comprised of CEOs and managers of SFIDA from all over the country.
The session managed to elicit responses and queries from participants who were also interested to know the potential of exports of other agricultural produce such a pistachios and other fruit types produced in Iran.
