Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet), paid a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, Philippines, where he met with Mr. Norjufri Nizar Edrus, Deputy Chief of Mission, on 11 February 2026.

During the meeting, Mr. Salim presented an overview of TFNet’s mandate, programmes, and ongoing activities. Mr. Norjufri welcomed the briefing and expressed his support for TFNet’s initiatives, offering to facilitate introductions between TFNet and key stakeholders in the tropical fruit industry in the Philippines.

The Embassy was also briefed on several upcoming TFNet activities in the Philippines, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), an upcoming seminar with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) scheduled for 12 February 2026, as well as the study visit by Board Members of the Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board (MPIB) planned for April 2026.

The Embassy further expressed interest in receiving TFNet’s regular newsletters to stay informed of the Network’s activities and regional engagements.
