The International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) during BPI’s 96th Anniversary celebration on 11 February 2026.

The MOU aims to strengthen collaboration between the two parties, with a focus on jointly organising capacity-building programmes, providing technical consultancy, promoting information and knowledge exchange, and facilitating discussions related to trade in tropical fruits and related agricultural products.

The MOU was signed by TFNet’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, and BPI’s Director, Dr. Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Herminigilda A. Gabertan, Assistant Director of BPI, and Mr. Christian Cangao, Information Officer of TFNet.

The Bureau of Plant Industry is an agency of the Philippine Government under the Department of Agriculture, responsible for developing, regulating, and supporting the country’s plant industry sector, including crops, plant health, and agricultural biotechnology. The partnership with TFNet is expected to further enhance regional cooperation and capacity development in the tropical fruits sector.
