TFNet Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, welcomed Ms. Chin Sing Yun, the newly appointed Country Director of CABI Malaysia, on her courtesy visit to the TFNet office.

CABI has been an Associate Member of TFNet since 2007 and continues to play a significant role as a member of the TFNet Board of Trustees (2021–present). During the meeting, Mr. Salim shared TFNet’s vision and programmes, highlighting plans to develop a tropical fruit trade database to further strengthen TFNet’s role in facilitating international fruit trade.

Ms. Yun outlined CABI’s regional priorities, including its initiatives on harmonising Import Maximum Residue Levels (iMRLs) across ASEAN. The discussion also touched on TFNet’s forthcoming role as an associate for CABI’s BioProtection Portal and plans to promote the platform across TFNet member countries, particularly in the Middle East.

Both organisations agreed on the importance of strategically enhancing the visibility of their activities, pursuing complementary funding opportunities, and leveraging their respective strengths for greater impact.

Ms. Yun was accompanied by Dr. Sathis Sri Thanarajoo, Scientist at CABI Malaysia.
