Dr. Malvika Chaudhary, CABI’s Global Team Leader for digital tool promotion, visited the TFNet office to discuss possible collaborations to promote the BioProtection Portal.
CABI has been an Associate Member of TFNet since 2007 and is currently an active member of the Board of Trustees. Recently, TFNet also joined the CABI BioProtection Portal as an associate.
The portal is the largest, free global resource for biological pest management. Its mission is to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of bioprotection among growers and advisors. Users can search for registered biopesticides in their country, related crops used and the pests and diseases managed.
During the meeting, TFNet proposed conducting webinars to introduce the portal to TFNet Country Members who are not a part of CABI Plantwise. This would complement and broaden the reach of the portal to more stakeholders outside of CABI’s network.
Additional links will also be added to the TFNet website, including crop-specific banners in the Tropical Fruit Database. Guides in the BioProtection Portal that highlight the use of biopesticides for tropical fruits will also be linked from the TFNet website.
