TFNet held a productive discussion with the Plant Biosecurity Division, Department of Agriculture Malaysia, on the provision of consultancy services for two specialised training programmes:
* Training on Managing Lepidoptera Using Biological Control Agents
* Training on Introduction to Agricultural Acarology
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Arizal bin Arshad, Acting Director of the Plant Biosecurity Division, Department of Agriculture Malaysia. Representing TFNet were Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, Chief Executive Officer of TFNet, and members of the TFNet team.
The discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration in strengthening technical capacity and knowledge sharing in the areas of pest management, biological control, agricultural acarology, and plant biosecurity. Both parties expressed their commitment to establishing a strategic partnership that will contribute to enhanced capabilities in safeguarding Malaysia’s agricultural sector.
As a positive outcome of the meeting, the Department of Agriculture Malaysia has agreed in principle to collaborate with TFNet. This initiative marks an important step towards fostering closer cooperation between TFNet and the Department of Agriculture Malaysia in advancing capacity building and sustainable agricultural development
