The workshop will provide a platform for key researchers and technologists to share their knowledge on the control of dragon fruit diseases. Specifically, it aims to identify the priority research questions for the diseases of dragon fruit and establish an informational network of key institutes, universities, and researchers. The proposed network will commit to information sharing and develop collaborative research programs and joint project proposals.

Country papers on the status of the disease and research on control will be presented as well as in-depth technical papers summarizing the state of knowledge relating to the major diseases such as Bipolaris cactivora, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, C. tuncatum, Enterobacter cloacae, Gilbertella persicaria, Neoscytalidium dimidiatum, and virus diseases.

After the presentations, group discussions will be done to identify priority research topics amenable to collaborative research projects and the possible structure and function of a Regional Network on dragon fruit diseases.
