The main objective of this seminar is to serve as a platform for pineapple producers in Malaysia to be exposed to new planting technologies of MD2 pineapples as well as to highlight the direction of the industry in general. To achieve our main agenda, specific objectives are as follows:

  1. To offer views and perspectives on the course of the MD2 pineapple industry in Malaysia
  2. To provide technical information on MD2 planting techniques to participants in an effort to increase quality and production of pineapples in Malaysia
  3. To establish a network between producers, traders, and service providers within the MD2 pineapple industry value chain

The seminar was opened by Datuk Seri Dr. Ismail Hj. Bakar, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Ministry. “The purpose of this seminar is to thrust Malaysia into the forefront of the global pineapple industry by introducing policies and strategies of the Malaysian pineapple industry to major industry players,” said Datuk Ismail. He hopes that this seminar would “aspire pineapple producers in this country to increase their net worth and to be actively involved in the transformation of the industry while attracting the younger generation.”
